# 42 Stryper - Against the Law (1990)
My first concert was Stryper when i was 14. ATL was their fifth album and the first departure from their famous yellow and black striped motif. Some saw it as a Christian band going secular. I thought they were trying to reach a new audience. Who knows but their music was a little edger and the vocals not so choir like.

# 45 Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil
Motley Crue, as my eight year old brother Rich asked "Where are their boobs"? If you didn't listen to this album, you weren't a rocker. I remember kids testing others kids on the tract list and order, it went something like this:
First Kid- "You got Shout?"
Second Kid- "Shout what?"
First Kid- "Shout at the Devil, Motley Crue!"
Second Kid- "Yea i got it"
First Kid- "No you don't!"
Second Kid- "Yes i do!"
First Kid- "Oh yea, What are the songs and in order."
This would actually happen, in the streets, on bikes and everything. They were the Micheal Jackson of heavy metal in 1983.

#46 Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death
This album only came out last year but it has achieved more than any album of theirs since 1983's Number of the Beast. It has won almost every metal award and magazine award in every country it was released. It has also topped every billboard chart across the world. Huge success can sometimes mean critics love it but fans hate it. But it is a fantastic album from the first seconds to the final minute. I have loved this band since I was 15 and probably always will despite the flack I've taken.

#48 Spinal Tap - Spinal Tap SoundTrack(Smell the Glove)
No hard rock list would be complete without The Tap. The album came from the movie, which probably is the greatest rock movie of all time. The album follows the line of the movie, totally clowning the rock world and the life style. The songs are from the movie and hilarious. They read like a comedy set list: Big Bottoms, Hell Hole, Stonehenge, Rock and Roll Creation. You just have to picture the movie when you are listening to them. Great movie, great album. Great laughs! The airport scene, the interviews, "mine go to 11". Classics.

#49 Whitesnake - Come an Get It
Whitesnake was a huge band overseas before they were the Whitesnake that we all know and love today. This album was one of their best. I first got this album in 1988 it came out originally in 1981. So when everyone was listening to the Whitesnake(Still of the Night, Is This Love), i had classic Whitesnake which was alot like Deep Purple meet Kiss. Sweetness!

Holy Toy Caper!
#50 Quiet Riot- Metal Health
This might not be number fifty but i wanted to start with a bang(Bang your head, Metal Heath will drive you mad). 1983, the world was just recovering from the punk era, and hip hop/rap hadn't ignited yet. The world needed an anthem. So we got Metal Health. Two great singles, the title track plus "Cum'On Feel the Noise". noise was a remake of the Slade song of the same title. QR made it their own. I was 12 going on 13 and this was the first album that i can remember buying with my own free will(no parent influence). I remember doing my paper route with my brother Tim and the both of us listening to this and singing our adolescent hearts out. Those were the times, just discovering music, having freedom with your bike and paperboy money in your pocket. Enjoy you head bangers. You know you are. Don't deny it.

A List Only I Could Be Interested In
I am working on a list to blog of my favorite rock albums of all time. Not "The Greatest Rock Albums OF All Time". In fact the albums i have picked might not be that bands best piece of work, but one that means alot to me and that particular time frame. Please don't judge me on this albums, some might seem a Little sexually, some a little "evil". What i can say is that most of them have very little of what i call throw away songs. Great songs start to finish, thats what i like, no filler. Others might mean something to me because of what was going on at the time. We will see as i write about it as i go. All this because this is my interests and i can't think of anything else to blog about right now. SO HERE COMES MY FAVORITE 50 ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. Bare with me.

Yankee Depression
Another year of disappointment, misery watching the Red Sox move on. Go Indians! It's a good thing my life isn't based on how well the Yankees do in October, or maybe it is. Yankees can't win, i can't find a job. It's a good thing my minute by minute mood swings have nothing to do with the play by play of a miserable offensive performance and untimely hitting. I'm glad my whole existence doesn't coincide with sports in general. OH no the Steelers lost a game i think I'm catching the Flu. I might stay in bed all year until spring training.

Lost Child
I lost my child today. I wasn't at Target like the last time(another story, another time). I wasn't at Disneyland the "Happiest Place on Earth", but also a magnet for lost kids. No, none of those places. I was at home when I lost my child in the neighbors front lawn. I think he is going for the "Tallest Grass on the Street" award at the next block party.

So young, is there Time Left?
The start of school could not come fast enough some years. This year it was to soon. Our oldest daughter a senior in high school, next one in seventh grade, oldest son in fourth grade, youngest daughter started kindergarten and Ice Man still at home. Where has the time gone? How has this happened so fast? One day we are taking them home from the hospital, you walk through the door and they are all grown up. How much time have i wasted the lasted eighteen years? What have i not told them, what have i not shown them? Have i been a good enough dad, have i been too mean? Have i punished out of love and not anger. Have i been a dad who will listen or will send them away? Will they want to come to me for help or will they be too scared of what i might say. Lord Jesus help me be a better father to the gifts you have given me. Help me be loving and compassionate. Caring and fair. Strong yet gentle. They are so young.

Cabins, Grandpas & Dads
This is were my brothers and i spent a lot of our summers growing up(at least until i was 14). We would go there with Grandpa and Grandma Loper. It was there pride and joy, besides us boys. My dad had three boys just like his Dad so my brothers were always called the wrong names. I was always Jimmy just like Dad, Tim was David and Rich was Tom(my Dad's brothers). It was hilarious. Grandpa made fires in the morning and flapjacks for breakfast or waffles in the old waffle iron. If we weren't outside playing we could play games with Grandpa (Chicken Tracks or Triominos were his favorite). They also had a Lite Bright and an Noah's Ark play set. It was Good Times. My Grandpa Jim was the best grandpa in the whole world and now my Dad is the "great" grandpa to my kids. I have some big shoes to fill.
This is my kids on the old deck where we would have the big family lunches.

Anything for a Buck
Hey, Jim Loper here,
Have you had your Air-conditioner serviced yet this year? It’s not too late. Do you have a project that needs done; you just don’t feel like starting it or finishing it? Do you need help with the maintenance and service for your home or business? I have “The Right Guy” for you. I am currently looking for additional contracts and one time work to round out the remainder of 07 and to get a jump on the 08 season.
If you haven’t heard my program ran out of funding and I was laid off from Richard Heath and Associates as of 8/31/07. I should be brought back for a new program as a project coordinator within the next month, until then I’m looking to boast up my personal business to offset the lost income and get us through this trying time. The lord has blessed my family through many trials and praises this last year and I’m positive this will be no different. I continue to thank him through our abundance and hardships.
So do not wait or hesitate any longer, now is a great time to get those things done. I’m a certified Heating, Ventilation, and Air–Conditioning technician and have been trained in electrical, plumbing and janitorial. You can reach me at the following:

New Something in Size 10
Two more days until i am unemployed, unless i get the governors reprieve. It sounds a little depressing and scary, and I'm scared to death. Never the less i am looking at it like shoe shopping. Sometimes you get a great deal. Sometimes you get something just right for you, a perfect fit. But sometimes you just need to cover your feet. With my outside work i don't have to find the "perfect fit" in two days, but that would be great if it worked out. We keep praying and so do my parents and grandma and her prayer chain. What happens, happens.

What now?
There always seems to be a "what now?". My wife is hospitalized, what now? My brother hurt his knee, what now? We are not getting the house, what now? I'm sick, what now? My mother in law is sick and throwing up, what now? We are getting the house, what now? All five kids have fevers during a seven day period, what now? My sister in law is in an accident, what now? My sister in law has to have surgery, what now? And the kicker for me I'm losing my job on Fri, what now? Happy birthday to me, thirty seven years of what now.

What the hell i'm i doing?
I don't know why i started this. I don't have deep interesting thoughts. I can be as shallow as spit on the sidewalk. i will try to continue, to carry on, to go forth, to carry my burden, to try to be interesting. I'm stuck.

No Words
What do you say to a friend who just lost his wife. She was younger than me I'm pretty sure. Thank you Jesus for my family and our heath(as shaky as it sometimes is). I don't know if I can get used to typing out my thoughts, my wife says I'm to lazy.
No patience to blog
I have told my self i could never be a writer because I don't like writing or typing or thinking about writing or typing. I guess I just wanted to prove my self wrong.
